Which Force Is In Control?

Every great military force understands the key to victory lies in the ability to wear-down the enemy to the point they have no more will to fight. The defeated opposition may adamantly disagree with the resulting change in ideology, systems, etc. but will submit, and eventually adopt, the opposing view. The concept of physically wearing down the enemy is easily understood, however, the eventual adoption of their ideology is more difficult to get your mind around. Many may angrily say, ’we may have been forced to surrender but I will never adopt their system and ideology!’… this may be the case for a few but the vast majority WILL eventually surrender their minds as well. This concept begs further explanation as it is where the real enemy of our soul lurks and is the key to understanding where the world is today.
The ‘enemy’ can be defined as anything that is a threat to the core standard, freedoms, sovereignty, rights and/or beliefs of another. The enemy that physically imposes its will is easily discerned and the outcome determined by power dominance. The only time physical force becomes necessary is when the opposition cannot be manipulated or convinced to concede to their will.
The enemy of your soul is exceedingly crafty and slowly eats away at your core for an extended period of time. The enemy of your soul comes as an angel of light, promising to serve and please but eventually enslaves and dominates. Those who have no real grasp of the absolutes of good and evil WILL be manipulated over time to believe a lie. How does this happen? It happens because preference overrides conviction.
Conviction is a firm and immovable force in an individual who has a firm grasp of the absolutes of good and evil. Absolutes come from one source, which is our loving God who desires the best for His creation and has provided immovable statutes to maintain order, peace, health and love.
Preferences are decisions made by an individual to compromise good for evil because it somehow fits their internal narrative, provides personal gain and/or has no direct impact on them. The individual of preference believes good and evil can be defined by them personally, thus, no absolutes, only personal opinion. This is where true evil is born ever so subtly in the minds and hearts of people. They believe that they have the ability to solely discern truth, thus, creating a god in their own image. The individual who lives by preference will ALWAYS be part of the manipulated majority no matter how ‘nice’ or ‘intelligent’ they appear to be.
The truth is the enemy of a lie. The concept of ‘greater good’ is the enemy of individual freedom and liberty. Those who live by preference will always be a slave to those in power no matter the extent of evil.
The few that have a firm grasp of the absolutes of good and evil cannot be manipulated, persuaded or forced to submit to the enemy of their soul as it is easily exposed by the standard. As resistance increases against those who live by conviction, they can be assured they are on the right path in opposition to evil. The weak will fall away, eventually choosing the path of least resistance, which leads to submission to the enemy of their soul. The enemy creates resistance to wear-down conviction, as a result, people of preference will revert to the path of least resistance, bow to the will of those in authority and eventually adopt their evil nature as well. People of preference are easily brainwashed and convinced that evil is good, good is evil.
There is, and always has been, only one solution…. faith and trust in God. He is our only hope in this world. He is the key to your inner peace. He is your only source of salvation. He is the only one that can deliver you from the bondage that you have allowed to dominate your life. His Word is the only relevant standard for His creation; nothing else matters.
My prayer for anyone reading this is that you examine your heart today. Do you live by conviction or preference? Is your faith and trust in God your #1 priority? Do you have peace in your life or is your life a chaotic mess? Is Jesus the Lord of your life and is the Holy Spirit guiding your every decision? Is Christ strong enough within you to resist the enemy that constantly tears at your soul?
My best and only advice to you is that you find a quiet place, pray that God forgive you of your sins, invite Jesus to become the Lord of your life and get plugged in with other Christians that will guide you to victory. This is not a ‘quick fix’, it’s a journey to freedom. You didn’t get where you are overnight, thus, you won’t overcome everything by tomorrow. The immediate victory is His eternal assurance for your life; the necessary journey begins with the knowledge of Him, dependance on the Holy Spirit for understanding, which ultimately results in wisdom.
